Who Would Have Thought

Way way back in October while walking the dog I took a bit of a tumble. Really did not think too much about it as I seemed to be ok. Although my right arm started to give me sharp pains every time I tried to get dressed, or over extend it. I presumed it had something to do with the fibromyalgia. Well the week before we went away one of our house guests was a specialist in pain. So I figured what the heck why not ask him about the oddity of all my pain being mostly concentrated on the right side of my body.

Right away he said that the pain in the arm had nothing to do with my chronic pain. Told me to go have it x-rayed. He also knew exactly where my back pain was coming from. Words of wisdom “RELAX” and you will be cured. So this week I had the opportunity to see a Doctor and have an X-ray. Apparently there is a tear in one of the tendons. Lucky me, they give me an injection of cortisone into the area and some anti-inflammatory meds for 1 week. The arm needs to rest and heal, no heavy lifting or over working it. As for the back his recommendations 1. LOSE WEIGHT, 2. Strengthen core muscles and the back will get better. Advice on how to lose weight “eat less”.

Now how much more motivation do I need to lose weight and be pain free! Could it be that simple?

I hear what they are saying, I am in a mindset where I eat less now...a lot less than I used to, I have been rewarded with a good weight loss and measurement loss, but most importantly I have achieved a good level of health. Long may it last I say, it is hard, but the results are worth it.Unlike me, you have less to lose to achieve your goals, I still have 18 kilos to go!!!

Good luck.
