New Session Brings Out The Crazies

Source

First off the Year end report is now ready for the Accountant. Once he gives me his final report I get to close off the year once and for all. Yippee! That's it for work right now.

Last week the Half Marathon training started. Surprisingly it's a pretty big group. We had a chit chat the first night followed by a short walk. After the walk we were supposed to pick up a guide book. During the session everyone drops their car keys into this big box by the cash register, once you're done you pick them up. So I head back into the store to do just that, this "new" woman from my group is leaned over the counter looking at some handouts from the other group. I'm waiting behind her so that I can get my keys and I just happen to say "I don't think those are for us". "She then says I don't care what you think I'm going to read them". Not that it was my intention of stopping her from reading them I just wanted to get to my keys. I really didn't give it too much thought other than thinking what a crank.

On Sunday we had our second class. Usually the leader has two permanent assistants but that day she was alone. She gave us a heads up and asked us to extra observant and try to stay close as a group. So we head out, I'm at the head of the group with the two fastest walkers, where we get stopped at a traffic light waiting to cross. I just happened to look back and see the remainder of the group is stuck way behind at the previous traffic light. So I asked to more seasoned walkers if we were going to wait before crossing so that we were all at the same junction. Their response was yes. Of course someone had already pushed the request to walk indicator and once it came on I caught a glimpse of my friend starting to move. Right away I pointed in the direction of the other group and started to tell her that they want to wait for them. In so doing I accidentally touch the woman who was behind me who also started to move. Of course it was the crank from the first night. She went on an absolute tirade "don't you touch me, don't you think you're going to stop me". Immediately I told her I had no intentions of doing any such thing, as a matter of fact I did not even know she was near me and I was only indicating to my friend that we were waiting for the other people.

What is with people? As far as walking is concerned I am there for myself, I not out to impress, control, critic anyone else. Holy crap its going to be a long 16 weeks.

That woman obviously has some issues. Don't let her get to you. She is ready to take offence at the drop of a hat!

Oh my, did someone say "issues"?! You've gotta leave the crazies to it don't you? Don't let one crank spoil your fun!! It sounds like she's very insecure. Just try and stay out of her way :) xx
