The Workaholic Or Just Hard Working?

Source

Sigh sigh sigh! Some days are just exasperating. Lately because of circumstances I have been at work longer than usual. But my time at work is nothing compared to DH 12+ days are routine.

Having said that as a woman my days are no where finished once I leave the office. Although we are empty nester's I am constantly busy with housework, cooking and not to mention the visits with my Father. Plus over the past few weeks there has been an endless stream of hosting and serving. Lately all I seem to be doing is rushing from on thing to another, with never a moment to spare to do something I want or just plain doing nothing.

Yesterday I went home, went for a walk followed by a session of house cleaning. Thus freeing up my time on the weekend to just plain relax and unwind. DH returned home around 8 PM and instantly started talking about work. First Sigh! At this point we have yet to have had supper and we still needed to drop off his car at the dealer. Off we went to the dealer where we spent nearly an hour sorting out things. All the time I was thinking wouldn't it be nice if he suggested we just stop and have supper somewhere, of course that never happened. Once home I started on supper then the conversation turns back to work. "You know we have to travel in together tomorrow" blah blah blah. Second sigh! Next he's on about how we need to work on finalizing another project for the office on the weekend. OMG just stop talking. SIGH!

This morning guess what? He wakes up even earlier than usual, and of course I have to get up even earlier. Let me tell you, I DO NOT like to rush in the morning it makes me crabby beyond belief, that is the main reason I try and manage my time. We were in the car and on our way just after 6:30 GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

But the kicker to all this is I'm absolutely fuming because this weekend is our 32nd wedding anniversary. You would think there would be no mention of work and there would be plans for celebration. Aaaaaah Noooooooooo! Not unless I plan it and host it, which is not going to happen. And he's wondering why I'm in a pissy mood. Genius you go figure it out!

If there's one thing I've learned it's that people aren't mind readers - especially our DHs :) Sometimes we do just have to ask for what we want, and it's never as bad as you think it will be! Hope you get some me time in the very near future! xx
