And I'm Back

Source
Actually tomorrow will be a week since I returned to work. Hopefully the new year is off to a great start and you all had a good holiday.  The break passed very quickly.  We were all struck down with gastro on Christmas day compliments of the little one. Oh the memories! By the time everyone was feeling better it was New Year's Eve.  In celebration a few friends came over for a quiet evening of food and drink. On the first day of the new year the we gathered together for a brunch in Saint Sauveur at ski lodge of one family member.  It was an excellent send off to the end of the holidays and the beginning of the new year.

For the most part I stuck close to home. During the break we had a massive snowstorm that dumped 46cm of the white stuff. It has continued to snow every other day since and the city is still trying to clear up the mess. If the snow isn't not enough to keep you in the bitter cold just might, with highs of -20C without the windchill. Fortunately today we are getting a break from both.

Although I was back to work last week, most people added a few extra days and took two weeks off.  The office was quiet but there's much for me to do at this time of year, setting up the new payroll and preparing the government 2012 employee tax forms. Yesterday we lost half a day as the power was out for most of the morning.  The electric company kept promising the power was coming back on any minute, we all sat around freezing our butts off and twiddling our thumbs.

Well that brings you up to speed on the past few weeks around here.  Hope to get some time to see what wonderful things you all have gotten up too.  Happy 2013!
