Day Interrupted

The hot water tank died this morning spilling some of its contents out in the basement.  Last time we had it replaced they installed a shut off valve, which we found out does not work! In the end we had to turn off the main water valve to the house.  It took us over 2 hours to try and drain the darn thing before the service agent showed up.
Damage is minimal, glad it happened this week while someone was around to help me with the logistics of containing the flood.
