Half and Half

A couple of years ago half of the ten provinces decided that it was one long haul between Christmas and Easter and selected this day as a civic holiday. Its either Family Day, Islander Day or Louis Riel Day but it just a regular old  work day Monday here. DARN!!!!!

I for one am getting a little winter weary.  It flipping cold again with wind chills of -29C, and another storm is on the way.  Also seems as though everyone is planning a getaway or is already somewhere sunny and warm.  To say I am envious is does not begin to express how I feel. How lucky for them, I keep hoping and dreaming that one day I will be spontaneous, throw caution to the wind and hop on a plane away from the cold, work and all responsibility.  I envy the workaholic who can wallow away day in and day out and thrive! 


I know what you are going to say, just book a trip and go! Yes that would be simple enough, but it wouldn't be fun alone nor make for a happy hubby.  Quite frankly the trade off would not be worth it. However maybe its time for a little heart to heart to come up with a solution for the winter blues that would suit the both of us.
